About the Oneironauticum
Founded in 2008, the Oneironauticum is an international dream group that works with oneirogens.
An Oneirogen is any substance, practice, or experience that promotes or enhances dream states. “Oneirogen” originates in the Greek “oneiros”, to dream, and “gen”, to create. Both modern and traditional cultures work with oneirogens to seek guidance from ancestors, to practice oneiromancy—divination through dreams—to seek healing, wisdom, and visionary experience, and to cultivate the extraordinary through one of the most common yet remarkable human experiences: the dream.
The Oneironauticum gathers on a given night to work with the same oneirogen. Participants pursue many kinds of dreamwork: healing dreams, lucid dreams, liminal dreams, communication with the unconscious, meeting in dream worlds, oneiromancy. The list goes on. Above all, we strive to explore consciousness, to experiment with subjectivity, and to play with our own intricate, marvelous minds.
For each Oneironauticum, at least one group gathers together to sleep in the same space, using the same oneirogen. On the same night, dreamers from locations around the world also use the same oneirogen. Although they may be separated by hundreds or thousands of miles, on the night of Oneironauticum, dreamers are united community, bound by the common experience of the dream.
The Oneironauticum is founded by dream explorer Jennifer Dumpert, who posts a dream daily on twitter as @oneirofer.

Dreamers Erik Davis, Vibrata Chromodoris, David Shamanik, Dean Mermell, Jacob Nasim, Christy Silness, Emily Butterfly, feline Marion, and yours truly, Jennifer Dumpert, met at the habitat on Saturday, May 31.
Amongst us all, we varied the relative amounts of B-6, Melatonin, and Valerian we took, from 3-5 g of Melatonin, 100-200 mg of B-6 and 470-940 mg of Valerian.
Several of our number were kept awake by busy minds for some time after bedding down. About half of us experienced a high degree of hypnogogia. A word derived from the Greek, like...

As the final weekend of April approaches, I must explain the absence of an April Oneironauticum. After the Consciousness Conference in Tucson at the beginning of the month, my spouse and I have spent the balance of the month in Paris, from whence we shan’t return until early May.
I lived in this city 21 years ago. During that time, I slept a lot, and for the first time ever spent a lot of time alone. As a result, my dream life grew ever more vivid. A few months into my residency, I had a dream that proved to be a turning point in my oneiric...

Dreamers Erik Davis, lissa ivy tiegel, Xavi, and yours truly, Jennifer Dumpert, met at the habitat on Saturday, April 5. The morning after, Naropa Sabine swooped in to give his dream account.
Saturday evening, we discussed the Tibetan Dream Yoga meditation. Norbu’s instructions stress the importance of practicing whatever form of the meditation works, simplifying the practice if it keeps you awake, complexifying it if you fall asleep too easily. You fine tune the practice until it’s just the right amount of intensity to keep your attention...

Dreamers Erik Davis, lissa ivy tiegel, Geneva Bumb Shanti, Dean Mermell, Vibrata Chromodoris, David Shamanix, jacob Nasim, Christy Silness, and yours truly, Jennifer Dumpert, met at the habitat on Saturday, March 1.
We had all spent the day contemplating elements of waking life as if they’d been dream things (see direction below), after paying attention to the experience of remembering dreams that morning. We all went to sleep and awoke about nine hours later and shared our dreams over champagne brunch.
Much of our conversation centered...

Dreamers Sylvia Thyssen, Erik Davis, lissa ivy tiegel, Geneva Bumb Shanti, Dean Mermell, Vibrata Chromodoris, David Shamanix, and yours truly, Jennifer Dumpert, met at the habitat on a stormy Saturday, January 26, between 10:00 and 11:00 for the first ever Oneironauticum.
We assembled a dream altar, and spent about 45 discussing our dream lives and our intentions with the Oneironauticum. We bedded down at 12:30, to the sound of rain pattering against the windows. At 5:00, we woke and each took 4 mg of Red Spider Lily extract, or Galantamine....
